J.M. Barrie

Sir James Matthew Barrie, (1860–1937) was a Scottish author and dramatist, best remembered today as the creator of Peter Pan.

Director Alfred Hitchcock was keen to film an adapation of Barrie's 1920 play Mary Rose and intended for it to be his next film after Marnie (1963), hiring Jay Presson Allen to develop a draft screenplay. However, Universal refused the green light the project.
