Théâtre Molière
(Redirected from Molière Players)
Formed in the early 1940s by French actor Paul Bonifas, the Théâtre Molière staged a repertoire of mainly Molière works in London theatres, as well as in regional towns and at French army barracks.
The troupe consisted of French actors and servicemen, some of whom were cast in the wartime propaganda film Aventure Malgache (1944) directed by Alfred Hitchcock for the Ministry of Information. To help protect the identity of the actors in the film, they were credited as "The Molière Players".
