Synopsis
Near the end of World War II, con artist Adelaide Winters cheats grieving families of soldiers killed in battle by pretending to communicate with ghosts. When she meets wealthy widower Edward Porter and finds out that his son was killed in battle, she insists that he join her seance. Edward reluctantly does so and begins to believe in Adelaide's powers. Eventually, he proposes marriage to her so that the two of them can be with his son. She accepts his proposal. On their wedding night, Edward kills Adelaide and then shoots himself, so that both of them can join their son in the world of the dead. (TV.com)
